I have a suggestion. Instead of secret santa, for all who participates buy any gift within that limit of 30 to 50 dollars. Then we do a lottery for people to pick out out of the gifts. That way, no one will ask "who are you buying a gift for?"

Totally workable... But if I might add, juan thing fun about secret santa is that you can personalize the gift if you see fit... Which is harder to do with a lottery system... I mean, you can't possibly get this ( see pic ) for just anyone in SCIC. But majority rules so whatever everyjuan wants to go with.. just my 2 cents..

so we can get good gifts instead of generic ones

 

If the budget is set, it won't be generic. Unless other wise you spend $50 on rubber bands.

 

let's just stick with secret santa.. i think we can personalize gift better that way...
