RPOD: Do you care for how human beings kill for meat? (Content may be offensive)

Do you care for how the chicken for the popcorn chicken you were eating was killed? The cow for the prime rib at Lawry's you were eating was killed? The crocodile for the skin on your wallet were killed? I can go on and on, but I'll slim down the poll question to the food category.

This poll isn't so random even though I labeled it as RPOD. For those who don't know, RPOD is also known as "random poll of the day" Yeah should have been RPOTD, but RPOD is good enough. Anyhow, that argument can be saved for another day. This poll is more like my rant poll. Back to the topic... So I left my aim on and my friend sent me these youtube videos on how "Japanese kill dolphins for food".

Here is the conversation:

FRIEND: *Watch "Dolphin Massacre In Japan" on YouTube.

*The Japanese eat dolphins (endangered species) for sushi & sashimi.

*They bleed dolphins for slow & excruciatingly PAINFUL death
(lasting up to 10 min.) because when the body is in pain, it releases adrenaline, which makes the meat more tasty.

*They love to eat raw horse meat, so they do the same thing to millions of horses. (Many of the horses are STOLEN PETS from Europe & US)

Japanese method: more PAIN = more adrenaline = more TASTY
Auto Response from ME: I am away from my computer right now.

ME : I think I've seen that before. I don't think about that when I eat meat. Otherwise, I'll become a vegetarian. You can think of the same for salmon, they get cut alive or sashimi. Or cows when they're killed for their meat. I don't know. If all animals have the ability to do circus acts or emerge out of the water to tap the red ball on the line to please the audience, majority of the people would become vegetarian. Regarding the Japanese method, it actually applies to plant as well, such as mushroom. I was watching this one cooking show on TVJPN and they were doing a study on how to make big juicy mushroom. They do that by removing the weaker mushroom within the proximity of the stronger bigger mushroom as they get vegetated together. Then they don't water the mushroom and let the strong fight and absorb every bit of the water and moisture in the soil. Then they become super gianormous mushroom. They did the same to tomatoes. Anyhow, dolphin meat and horse meats are rarities and they're not served in all parts of Japan, but regardless, they never really televise how they kill cattle and or farm animals over here. So who knows.

My examples with the vegetation maybe irrelevant and it isn't even an argument against the topic, but rather I'd question those, who watched these videos on how Japanese killed dolphins, if they had seen how Americans kill for meat.

Another thing that was annoying to see is how some of the people responded to those videos. One might be an endangered species / animal activist, but for those who aren't, why leave messages on youtube such as:

I feel somewhat offended by their remarks maybe because I'm dating a Japanese myself or maybe I am an omnivore myself and that I suspect that those whom left comments such as the ones right above are omnivores themselves as well. The real argument is, they can't guarantee that ALL and I mean ALL Japanese kill dolphin and eat dolphin and that is absolutely indefinite. I mean, when corrupted American soldiers go on and kill innocent families in Iraq and lit some of them on fire for their descendants to watch, should I say that ALL Americans are corrupted ruthless killers? (Absolutely not talking about Bao Bei, I'll take this material down if you or any one find it too offensive).

Bon Appetit! Feel free to ignore, argue, leave remarks, opinions, or hate me.
Cheers! BTW I've had beef tataki before, I've had horse sashimi before, I've had croc meat in Thailand before and I didn't do the killing.

Maybe this can be Jerry's topic for his 8-10 pages persuasive paper on controversial topic. Then again, this thread is a mix of scrambled topic. Not too well thought out for an argument, more like releasing for rant.

I recently discussed this issue with a couple of my employees 2 days ago. One is vegetarian and the other is vegan.

I love meat, nothing will make me give it up. But I just wish that people could kill animals in a humane fashion. I know PETA is a bunch of fascist pigs but their videos do hit hard.... Watching them slit cows throats and bleed them to death, chickens getting their beaks cut and shoved into packed cages is really painful to watch.... But thats how the world is, if they can cut costs by up to $.01 per cow to slit their throats instead of a bullet to the head - thats how its going to continue to be done.

A really sad video to watch is the one in China where they are skinning raccoons alive for their fur. You can see them tear up and cry, it is truly heart breaking....
