Unhappy Please read, Be safe

After getting my subaru, I wanted all these mods. Stage kits, best everything. After getting tickets I thought, "Why get the power if can never use it? Isn't the WRX fast enough? " I think so. It can past most of the traffic on the freeway, with ease, so I cant fly by the M5 or EVO. Who cares? I'm not going to driving like that every single sec. So why? Yes I'm a car enthusiast, and I love cars. But there is more to things than that. And I know from personal experience that after a while men's ego gets in the way.

After driving some canyon roads a few, times, i enjoyed it, and loved it. It's beautiful but a little dangerous if driven out of control.

This past weekend, a co-worker of mine, an engineer crashed his car with a passenger, he didnt make it to the hospital, RIP. He was engaged to be married, The passenger survived with a broken collar bone.

So I ask myself. Why get engine mods, when driving at speed is illegal and can kill. For me it WAS ego. And I am about to be married, and not only would my life be over, but my fiancee's too.

So take it the track and be very safe.
Love you all

yup, i used to do the canyon runs, etc. but i now stick to legal venues. it costs money, but its safe. and as much as i hate some people, i still wouldnt want to see them crash their subaru and die cuz insurance rates are high enough...

and its not cool to die either. keep it off the streets and live a lil longer, i dont love you all, but there is no reason to kill yourself or innocent by standers by racing on the streets.

live by the sword die by it.

cant do the time dont do the crime.

you can go on and on forever, i dont think its ego. i think its more about being one with the road and the car. im married i have a child and i know the limits of my car and my ability. i use to have a rx7 turbo that was pretty much built for mid to top end. before that i had a 944 turbo and before that i had a mustang 5.0. then for some reason i decided to get a SUV (explorer pos). i drove it from 96'- 01' then i got a volvo. driving those two cars the last 7 years made me miss the ability to drop the hammer and get that feeling of having all of my senses heighten with the sensation of joy. yeah you can get the same feelings doing other things i.e. rollercosters, but i prefer the car.

i feel bad for your co-worker but at least he died doing something he loved. if not he would have been playing golf or something safe like that. but who knows people have had heart attacks and been struck by lightining playing golf. what im tryin to say is when your on the roads your not safe. if its your time its your time. there was a motorcycle cop who was considered one of best motorcycle riders in the inglewood police dept. he was riding his bike home and was hit by a car that was hit by another. he died.

and that stuff about take it to the track... tell dale erndhart...greg moore...and all those others who have died at racetracks..

so are u saying that you have an equal chance of surviving when on public roads with on coming traffic as you do with a track that has all the medical personell onsite?
I dont think so. If you wanna feel the rush you are going to drive equally hard on your car. If my co-worker was on the track maybe he could have survived, with an almost instantanous(sp) medical response. And not stuck in the canyon with poor or no cell fone reception.

Just think of the people you would hurt if you died. Not only would people would lose a friend, but you would hurt your own daughter and wife.

Your life is not just your own any more, especially when you get married, and have a child. To me I will be more selfless, and care about the people around me.

Please be safe and enjoy your family and especially your child and wife.

Peace

Tifosi77 has many friends died in accidents, it's not even funny. Well, skoobywrx, I'm really sorry to hear about your co-worker and I hope you can get over it soon.

seeing more deaths than me, makes you better or harder?
Sure then your harder than me.

Isn't this board a free speach board, or are we in Iraq? You called me a pragg, I took it as an opinon.
So don't tell me keep my opinons to myself, if you can't.

but if you push it into the street and say you did it there, they will cover it.

j/k, dont scam insurance. but if you were going to, thatd be the way to do it.

take it easy on the streets, go hard on the track.
