I liked in this story the difference in US vs English police practice; in the US cops get criticized because they often kill people for minor infractions, by accident, or when they could otherwise have used far less than lethal force, in the UK the cops are criticized by the citizens for utilizing non-violent means such as using chicken to subdue enemies of the public peace - perhaps citizens would be happiest with a hybrid of English and American police - maybe that is what cops are in Canada?
