New to the world of Subaru
Hi All -
Although I'm a veteran of on-line fourms, I'm new to this forum and in fact, new to the world of Subarus and WRXs. But I'm excited about it and here's why:
I've been a BMW enthusiast and have been running a BMW race team. I've just been approached by a new race car maker, Saker Motorsports, to put a race team together to run their Subaru WRX powered SVS GTA race car in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill in December. I am close to completing the driver team for the first car (we will be trying to fund more than one car) and that team will be based in SoCal (in the OC).
I'm very excited about this project, but I've got a lot to learn about WRXs and the Subaru enthusiast community, so hope it's okay to pose a lot of questions to the SoCal members here.
Here's some more info on the car:

Yeah, after looking at your site I am intrigued.
If you are looking for tuners strictly in Orange County then I would suggest XS-engineering in Huntington Beach. They have a nice site: http://www.xs-engineering.com and that is all I really know of for now. If you want to go outside of Orange County there are plenty more like GT Motorsports in Rancho Cucamonga, Harman Automotive in Torrance and Easy Street aka ESX (has/had Fastest WRX in the world or was it fastest in the states... i forget) which I believe is in the North Hollywood area. Hope that helps

Might want to check in the Motorsports sections. I think there are more road racers in the Bay area/Nor cal and I think you might want to see what Gary Shehan is up to. I believe he races USTCC or something like that but I don't follow that much so how about I just give you the link instead
http://www.teamsmr.com/index.html I don't know what his current status is with racing Imprezas but he has built quite a reputation. I think lately he has being racing an S4 and doing quite well with that too. Hope that helps.

Bruce (Turnbull) currently competes with such a motor in the Sprint version of the Saker, which is designed along the lines of ta Le mans prototype racer with an open cockpit.
A while back I watched Bruce race the car in a Formula Libre race that included Formula 5000, Forumla Holden and Forumla Pacific single seaters. The Saker, with the characteristic low growl from its Subaru "boxer" engine, performed with credit against a sophisticated field of purebred racing cars.
