wow i'm learning some new..i didn't know shat about pci express
1X
4X
8x
PCI Express connectors are similar in appearance and connection method to 32-bit PCI slots. PCI Express 1X slots are about the size of current modem riser slots (about 1" long), while the X16 interface (164-pins) for graphics is very similar in appearance to the standard AGP port. The flexibility to adapt to PCI express devices of different bandwidths is built into the midrange X4 and X8 slots that we have seen.

Thats a pretty good config if you are willing to drop the cash.

i don't think 10k RPM HDD is fully developed yet..
regular Sata is good enough for me

hahhahah, sorry, i was kinda wandering off your budget and was building my dream system HAHAHAH

you probably wont be able to get the newest computer parts in the market if your budget is only $800.

i would recommend going with single core amd cpu paired with an older motherboard with agp support.

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 1GHz HT Socket 939 Processor - Retail $200
ASUS A8V Socket 939 VIA K8T800 Pro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail $75
Corsair XMS PC3200 2X1GB $200
WD Raptor 74GB $150

those are the key components i would get on a budget system. you can reuse your 9800 pro video card to save a few bucks.

Here is my case. Good case, good circulation. The side cover has a cone that you can adjusted to sit right above your CPU fan. This cone essentially pulls cold air from the outside, and aims it right at the CPU. Then of course the fan from the back pulls the hot air out. You could actually get another fan and put it infront of the cone so you have 2 fans pulling cold air to the CPU.. I did this, but ended up taking it the second fan out due to noise.. The Front to vents, 1 is in, the other is out (for air that is), the "in" part has another fan... everything inside is hot swappable. All your cards, your drives are held in by thick plastic clips.

So you'd suggest 1ghz FSB over lower one ?
More FSB over Core speed?

higher fsb = better

cpu clock speed is like HP of you car
fsb is like the torque

dual core is like twin turbo
single core is single turbo

if you wach initial D, dual core and single core is like the fight between the 2 FD's
they both have benefits and cons

LOL
