My computer died on me

I'm so sad this morning leaving for work.
My computer died this morning when I woke up.
The power still turns on, but nothing comes on the screen.
No sound from the HDD, no video.
I hope it's just the power supply...

err no....
it's most likely the power supply.. i burned out one of those cheap one and i had to switch back to my old one that's 5+ years old.. so i guess that finally burned out too..
bleh..
I need to build a new computer.. I should build a server..
A regular system is just not cutting it.

Try unplugging the power to CD rom, DVD rom, etc., etc. Let the board run by itself and see what happens.

I really like macs. I think they're sane and ideally reliable. But when it comes to hacking and programming and development, Windows suits me best.

The great thing about OS X (aside from what you mentioned above) is that anytime you feel the need, you can open up a shell and hash commands. The ease in backing up and synchronizing data, as well as all of Apple's integrative programs makes life a lot easier, especially if computers are crucial to your daily life.

But in all honesty though, nothing beats Apple Customer Care. I recently switched and it has been one of the best decisions I've made regarding computers. I have a PC desktop at home, and a Powerbook - really, the best of both worlds.

I hate being so pro-Mac.. but it's hard not to. There's a reason why Mac people are their own clique - the products and their counterpart support are simply amazing.

Also, there has never been a virus for Macs. That should come in handy for all your pirating and **** habits.

dont use those cheapy power supplies that come with the $30 cases, go invest in a good power supply by antec or ocz, definately something u dont want to skim on.
