All depends on the colour of the car but remember it is a nightmare to reverse the car in the dark if u are getting the side windows aswell and i am talking from experience and a $300 repair bill to the bumper after half of it was left on a gate

 

Why?

 

when i drive at night the headlights of the guy behind me with 100W bulbs nearly blinds me. so having tinted side/rear view mirrors is a good thing!

Seems to me that you would be potentially hindering your ability to be safe driver 90% (backing up at night is a good example) of the time so you can see that 10% of the time (when the 100w bulbs are behind you)... Gotta play the numbers...

excellent point. what about different grades of tint?
if I went with a medium-light tint, wouldn't it be the best of both worlds?

 

Interesting....the tint thats on the top of the windshield would work well with the side mirrors.

I was thinking just a straight medium tint (i dont know what percentage)

I saw some pics of a WRX with 35% tint. Looked pretty good to me.
