Living in L.A.?

Hello my lovely SCIC'ers!

How are you all?
I have a question for you guys. There's a possibility I may move to L.A. next year, and I wanted some suggestions on where's a good place to live. The stipulations are the following:

1.) Easy Metro access to the USC Hospital near Downtown (NOT the main campus... thank God haha!) -- that's the BIG ONE for me since I don't want to deal with daily traffic.
2.) A place where I can sleep undisturbed at night (to accommodate day shift hours, not swing or graveyard thankfully).
3.) Somewhere with (preferably covered) parking for 1 car.
4.) Not too expensive.

So far, I've come up with Little Tokyo. Any good? Any other suggestions? Thank you all very much in advance!

Little tokyo is cool, but the public transit in LA really sucks, expect to drive everywhere and for it to take forever..... I just visited down there for the last week and it reminded me why I left....

Even the Metro sucks? It's not like BART?
Thanks for the input!

But I'll just be a displaced Nor Cal'er in L.A. -- hence my burning desire for riding the Metro so that I won't have to worry about traffic and parking

You do have about being an L.A. person in L.A.
Seriously though, is the Metro really that bad? Or is it just that it's for poor people or tourists or something?
