teh review
Damn, what a great ****in' night! The place was packed with politically conscious hip hop heads sportin' the usual che & nat shirts, which KRS later addressed as "Being a revolutionary isn't having a dead man's portrait on your ****in' shirt or wall, its about education, supporting your family and people, and identifying true enemies that jeopordize their well-being...", as you can imagine - KRS ONE STOLE THE MOTHER****ING SHOW WITH ONE OF THE ILLEST PERFORMANCES I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!
The teacher is BACK, and better than ever! He's lost a lot of weight, and was cool enough to pre-release his album for the fans in attendence a month earlier than in stores, and autographing after the show! Best beleive I got my copy, and shook the man's hand. Kris told us that he'll be celebrating his birthday on August ?? in Long Beach. He said to peep the Temple of Hip Hop website for more details.
As for Immortal Technique, this man is in fact EXTREMELY ill and above and beyond the many netcee rappers that are glorified nowadays.
Anyway, the man didn't dissapoint and delivered an electrifying performance that had you seeing blood from his bars of painful truth and severe lyrical punishment.
KRS-ONE: Black Cop, Sound of Da Police, MC's Act Like They Don't Know (inst.), Poetry, Step into a World, Rappaz R'N Danja, Criminal Minded, Love's Gonna Getcha, Bridge is Over, Underground, Outta Here, South Bronx, Ah Yeah, The MC, Jack of Spades, plus a few LONG freestyles! YES, THIS IS TRUE SOULFUL HIP HOP, NOT THE FAKE **** I'VE BEEN HEARING THESE LAST FEW YEARS.
Immortal Technique: Harlem Streets, Obnoxious, Truth's Razors, Industrial Revolution, Peruvian Cocaine, Point of No Return, Dance with the Devil (a lot of people got quiet, haha), and a few others plus some LONG *** FREESTYLES AS WELL!
I spoke to other strugglin' emcee's on the floor who've battled him in the past, and the general feedback I got was that they though he was nice, but they had no respect for IM for the way he comes at them during the battle. He takes on "too strong" and "disrespects the culture with his shockcore", as one guy put it. I can't recall his name, but I have one of his samplers he was giving out, so I'll add that later. That aside, I can understand what they mean, but I still feel he has to be this aggressive to gain the attention of some ignorant *** mother****ers who need some waking up, and can better relate with the violent nature in his lyrics.
Anyway, Immortal technique is truly an Underground Legend, and was happy to meet him as well, but again, KRS-ONE stole the ****in' show!! I'll be playing everything from Criminal Minded to Keep Right in heavy rotation throughout this entire month, best believe that!
The other two openers were forgettable in my opinion, but maybe some of you may disagree. I sat through most of it.
Diabolic & ? (Project Sweatshop), and the other was a cholo duo flapping their gums, but I wasn't feelin' it.
I know someone took pics (LA Smog website), was there flashing their cameras, and there were three video crews taking professional shots & soundboard. I hope they put some of this **** on a DVD somewhere, because it was a monumental event in Hip Hop!
Memoral Highlights:
-On KRS' "Ah Yeah" Every president we ever had lied, You know I'm kinda glad REGAN died! HAHA, there was a lot of Regan hatred from both IM and KRS, and rightfully so with the Contras and Cocaine distribution surge during the 80's.
-My girl and I embracing when KRS was giving the mini-speech of what REAL HIP HOP meant, and how family and YOUR WOMAN was important to love, protect and cherish.
-Immortal Technique jumping into the crowd, and almost ****in' someone up for throwing some **** at him. Those ****ers got scared when he said he wouldn't hesitate to bang.
-Some ***** flashed her **** during the Project Sweatshop show, and Immortal technique was giving out the new single on wax, and it snapped in pieces during the scuffle for it. Funny ****!
Ok, two MY02's and 1 MY04 (silver, with nice front lip and loud *** scoobysport?) were seen passing slow. Anyone else go?

I don't play games and loathe skateboarders, so I had to google if that was fact.
I found out that, yes, KRS did a track called "Hush" for the game on PS2.
Hope that satisfies your curiousity. If that's the only outlet that your asian *** has heard of him, then I feel sorry for your sorority sister with the FAT ****.
Does she still lather wash Imprezas for charity? Please post some pics of that beauty, as I'll be opening a can of tuna soon for a late afternoon snack.

Word on I.T. being one of the illest emcee's in a time where phoney rappers are a dime a dozen. Last saturday I went to the Mics of Destruction show with M.O.P., Pharohe Monch, Supernatural, and Pitch Black at Qtopia's in Hwood, it was FIIIIIIREEEE!!!
I'll keep you updated on any further events like these
