hey i got a question.. it looks like i'm going to be running V8 JDM sti strut.. and maybe i'll upgrade to JDM pinks before i install them to get it all over with... do i really need to upgrade the top hat.. and why?

 

well you have to ask yourself if you need it or not

it makes teh suspension stiffer. there is flex in the stock one. but the stock one cuts down on the RNV

 

I have had the grp n hats in the rear and did not feel a difference...

 

so it's not totally necessary? i though the stock top hat won't be able to handle the stiff JDM pinks...

i think the pink feature on that site is not the jdm pink
how much did you pay for your setup??

 

I got my pinks from gruppe-s for $375 shipped...i forgot how much i paid for the grp n tops tho...try a search on nabisco and u will see how to differentiate between group n tops and regular sti tops...IIRC, the real group n tops have lil green dots on the front pair and yellow on the rear pair...

 

i know racecomp is selling whole setup for 600+ and top hat is like $250..
and wierd thing is allsubaru.com sell top hat for $160
makes me wonder if they are sti top hat... i found the thread talking about identifying the top hat with pink and yellow stripe on the top
but not alot of vender post pictures..

 

i really doubt that u would be able to get grp n hats from any official subaru parts dealer...wut i mean is that the best place to get these parts are from aftermarket part vendors like racecomp, gruppe-s, etc....i'd bet the ones on allsubaru are regular sti hats...btw, i will be selling my setup in the near future...

 

right now.. i just need pink spring and group N hat.. cuz i already bought some v8 strut spring top assembly.

let me know when you decide to sell them.. i already got struts sitting in my room.. so i'm just waiting to install them.. i don't wanan pull them out again later and install pinks... i just decide to do them all at once..
