did you ever land a design gig? if not, there are few design temp agencies that i used when i was freelancing. (i also do graphic design) not sure if you have checked these places out but they can be helpful in finding you work.

the first two require you to take a proficiency test to see how solid u are with the software, but they all found me work right away and one of the gigs i worked at hired me on full-time. the best part about freelancing through one of these groups is the exposure you get in all kinds of different design work environments. i met a ton of people and now know a lot of people in a lot of different design agencies.

well friday my boss pulled me in and had a talk with me and apologized and said that he realized how valuable i am since he couldn't find anyone to replace me, and then decided to give me a 20% pay increase and give me full health benefits just to get me to stay. so i took his offer and decided to stay.

 

well that's good. I would still be looking for a better job though.

i say keep looking anyway if you can cause your boss may still be looking for people and let you go the moment he find someone. If he said that stuff to you in the first place, he can be stupid like that you know.
