morning guys hey jon quick question. since i live in the hood and they don't provide u-verse. the ATT Rep said that they do offer u-verse internet only but could be slower than DSL speeds how true is this?
if its regular uverse than that too should be better speed than your reg. dsl.

If they can't offer uverse tv, the speed provided will either be Adsl or rate shaped Adsl which is sometimes unfairly sold as sdsl. Adsl is a best effort product meaning you will get the speed which your bridge/modem will connect at. This could be as slow as dial up speeds. Uverse tv works so well because the tv streams are Terribly over compressed. You don't need much more than a few mb/s to watch uverse tv so if you can't get the tv service, IMO the Internet service will not be worth it. Your download may be "ok" but your upload could be sorry which will slow down basic web browsing and dns lookups.
