But there are updates to touring cars coming up monthly and parts tweaks coming out almost bi-weekly. I started with the TC3 and half a year later, the TC4 came out. A year after that, the TC5 came out. That is why touring cars are losing steam. Too many updates to keep up with too much micro-managing and focus on the car and it costs money. Everybody is going to Traxxas slashes and now for that reason. When I bought the car up north, the only thing being stocked in the stores was Associated. There was one losi and the yoke was uber-expensive.
Besides, i'm not an on road fan and I like dirt 'n jumps more than flat asphalt that is sauced with root beer.

When I got into TCs, I was expecting to learn with it. BIG MISTAKE. with all the updates coming all the time, I was told almost everyweek by the local hobby shop that everything was outdated. I wanted something where I can learn to drive better without worrying too much about setup. In addition, there weren't many tracks in norcal to practice at and I wanted to practice in the parking lot like I did with my RC10. That can't happen with on-road cars.
You also won with an outdated car which is great. THIS ALSO MEANS that you understood what tweaks you did to the car to fit your driving style. That comes with a lot of track time. Like I've mentioned numerous times before, I am NOT even close to that point yet. I barely know which tweak does what and whether or not i'm taking the right line or not. When I learn how to drive without flipping or making stupid mistakes or when I feel that I can go faster on the track but the car is not allowing me to, thats the time I start worrying about setup.

im saying the non set up is holding you back
pick a car and stick with it
screw the "updates"
how else are they going to make money?
if you dont buy the new one the car maker and the hobby shop dont make money
don believe the hype
drive one car and dont bother with the "upgrades"
i understand your driving experience is holding you back
but i also know that not having a set up car is hurting you. when you finally set the damn car up you are going to have to learn how to drive again
having a cosistant car buggy truck what ever makes it predictable on what its going to do in situations.
like i said ill go to the track with you
