Why would anyone want to downgrade his/her RS tranny to a WRX tranny?
RS tranny = 4.11 gears (sweet for low end and amazing at the Auto-X, Rally-X and canyon running, great for everyday driving)
WRX tranny = 3.91 (which is better for higher speeds, long legs)

WRX trannies are not as strong as the RS tranny, 1st and 2nd gears synchro's are always going out on people, infact I've heard of more WRX trannies going out than RS trannies, RS trannies are able to handle more torque down low.

you are correct!! the main reason why is because the GC was a very limited production car, not only that Subaru was testing the waters (sort of speak) before bringing their rocket of a car the WRX, which had been available overseas since '93. Oh and BTW no one is arguing the point that the EJ20 has more HP of course the WRX has more power, totally different engine, lower displacement, lower compression, and FI from the factory, which is more reliable than a N/A to Fi setup, that's like me saying Oh yeah! the WRX has more power than an EVO, of course that point has been made many of times, my reply was not about that ,I was simply stating a known fact in the RS community, the WRX tranny is weaker tranny than the RS, ask any Scooby Mech (that knows what the hell they're doing) and they'll tell you the same thing.
