Exhaust Ticket, what to do ?
I got a too-loud exhaust fix it ticket a month ago, but received nothing in the mail like the cop said I would.
I now only have less than 2 weeks to do something about it.
Do I have to fix it ? I heard I can contest it, but I think I'll lose, as I was speeding at the time, got off with a warning, and my exhaust is really loud, (RS-turbo + scoobysport )
Is my best bet to just fix it, and show up for inspection ?
whats constitutes a fix ? getting hold of a stock exhaust ?
can I pay a fine instead of fixing it ? or do I have to fix it in CA ?
Does anyone have stock RS exhaust (including pipes and cat) that I can have, borrow, loan or buy in the Los Angeles area ?
(that would fit a 2000 RS)
help appreciated
regards
Jon

wow, I was lucky, I think
I went a few days before my deadline to ask if I had any other options apart from fixing it, and I was told that the officer checked n/f (not fixable) on my ticket, even though he told me I have to get it fixed, so I didn't have to fix it, only pay a fine, though it was $110
Still I think I got off lucky, as nothing was stock, from turbo, to cats, pipes, muffler.

FYI, exhaust tickets are no longer fix-it tickets and you are to be fined. However, I didn't know that if that box is checked off as not fixable, you wouldn't have to have them (law enforcement agency) sign it off. Last time I brought my car in (sometime last year), I had to have the stock one back on and the bastard made me rev it. I revved it slowly since I was worried about him hearing my intake, but he didn't seem to pay any attention to it (I guess since I was there only for the exhaust).
