...another reason I'm seriously considering a full cage and harnesses before doing suspension on my car.

Tough to say "I'm over my head - see you at the end." Hope everyone recovers and has learned something

Yeah I know what you mean, but I'm just saying if the police want to see that way then they can do that, they have the video and it says a lot.

Strong doubt's that Jeremie will get off with just "wreckless driving", the video had him saying "****, I can't keep up, I'm front-wheel drive" about 5 or so times, plus tire screeching, plus the photos taken from mid point to top.

Wow... so someone gets badly hurt due to complete negligence and incompetence, and all you can say is that?

How about, gee, take it to the track? Or.. hmm, maybe I shouldn't go so hard at the canyons... especially since there's no safety margin.

Might call me a wuss or something but if I screech tires while on a canyon run, I KNOW Im going too fast for conditions...

There are plenty of track events and Auto-x in the area for you to get your fix on.. SAFELY.

me thinks that theres no need to say that, even if it would be great fun to rub someones negligence in. but i think they already know that now. and if not, theres always evolution......

I'm not saying anything regarding the negligence... I'm talking about the other statement.

Basically, the response is... "that sucks... well, since I am just as dumb, at least I got a rollcage"... Smart.

wtf.....? how do you know I'm not talking about getting a cage for use ON the TRACK? regardless of the conditions, I was referring to the fact that without proper restraint and the structural support to which it should mount, I could get flung from my car during a shunt (ON or OFF track), and that's probably something I should take care of before improving the already stable and forgiving handling of my car (evo).

fyi, make no mistake, I'm no stranger to track days, and I'm not stupid enough go anywhere near 10/10ths on gee em arrrr or any other public road.

way to make ASSumptions about someone you don't know a goddamn thing about. cheers.

#1 (Tires) make sure your car has all 4 new tires. Make sure you at least have all 4 same threads or at least 2 diff threads.

#2 (Suspension) make sure your suspension is set/perfect, not all messt up and stiff.

#3 (Transmission) Do not go up there with an automatic! You have no throtle control with Auto.

#4 (Your seats/seat belts) Have harnases or really good seat belt thats very lockable and wont come off when you tug on it.

#5 (Driving position) Be able to be to reach your clutch, break, and gas pedals when you sitting down in a confortable possition. Make sure you are sitting up straing. Be able to have your arms curved when ur are holding the wheel and have your "stick" in a very easy/close reach.

#6 (If you are new to the/that touge) Do not push ur self. You do not know the course. Take it easy for the 1st few times you are there.

#7 (When to slow down) once you start to see skid marks and missing bricks or dents on railing. Slow the **** down!

#8 (Drifting) If you have no idea how to drift "DONT TRY" If your rolling auto. DONT TRY! You need clutch! Dont think waight shifting is going to help if you dont know how to balence ur self.

#9 (Risks) Every day you set your self at risk just getting on to your car. Some one can ram into you or you can to them. A car is a deadly weapon. So is when your on the touge. Theres a very big possibility that you can die or kill someone else on it.

#10 (Fallowing/mimicing) Just because in Initial D and other pro drifters in FD and D1 fallow them to keep up doesnt mean you have to. They might be either: less experiance then you, breaks can die, tires can pop, and you can fall off a Mt/cliff. Try not to copy anyone. You might just crach.

#11 (Road conditions) Never go fast on ur 1st run. Check for rocks, dirt, and pot wholes. Any of thoughs things can cause your life and your car.

#12 (Up hill and the Down hill) On the up hill you can go as fast as you want and break/slow down easy. Just try not to push your self. You might end up flying off the cliff or Mt. Down hill. The most dangerous. This is will involve the 3rd gear rule same with the uphill.

#13 (The 3rd gear rule) When your touge has a lot of turns dont go over the 3rd gear. Especialy if you are new to this. 3rd gear is the safest gear you can be in. Dont go past it. On tight hairpins stay in 2nd. But never go past the 3rd gear!

Experiamce:

I have been on the touge a **** load of times. Ive seen from bad to worst. Ive tested my self already. I know how fast I can go. I have seen my friends hit their limits. Ive seen friends almost come to their deaths. I have almost totaled my car. I have almost come close to falling of 2 times.

My Stories:

Ive had a friend hit past 3rd gear and amazingly stop on time to the point his car was teatertoting on the edge of the hill.

Ive popet a tire and crasht on to the Mt. I have come close to falling off 2 times for not counter strearing and balencing. Under stear is bad and overstear is just a death wish.

2 of my friends almost died from a 300ft drop.

Racing another car just like yours doesnt mean your at the same level. If ur along side or he is along side of you. Slow down. If he starts to go really fast dont push because you know how fast you can go. He can probably spin out.

There are many other things I can add onto and say but I rather not.

I am done with this. Im moving on to something else. But I would still go and watch. Not do it.

Im going to try track now. Fallow me!
WTF are you doing!
