I don't believe my boss, there was working coming in. The vice pres. Bought a brand new car while the other one bought a new tv and 2 blu ray players and sound systems and other crap. Then there's money, looks like they're trying to fill their pockets instead. That comapny is already know to be cheap asses, that's most left before **** started going bad. These ****ers always have a hard time to find replacements.

if you already knew that the company was known to be a "cheap asses," didn't that throw up a red flag for you?
Lets be real, people get cut from their jobs because they are replaceable. Its a fact. There was someone there before you and there will be someone there after you.
Unless you are in a job position where only you are capable of doing that specific job, then you are truly secure.
Try working at a smaller firm where there's maybe 9 people and you have to multi-task your whole operation. I say this because if you are limited to only one spectrum of work (autocad), you are then replaceable in my opinion.
If you were to ask me what I do for a living, It would take about an hour to explain my job duties since it's everything. I'm pretty much webbed into all the vital operations of my company now and if I were to leave or let go, they would have no clue on how to operate on my systems.
I did more than just autocad there, I started doing same thing the engineers were doing. I also have worked in a small place where I was the only one there doing cad. Yes I knew that I should of left long ago, but I wasn't able to find something better. So I planned to stay there ti'll something came along.
I have two boss and each of the boss has a son who is also working at the company
my boss collects $100,000+ annual salary
each son collect 800,000+ annual salary.
Is the company making money? Hell no.
I sit around all day waiting for my boss to bring in new orders. (the boss is the sales)
Our monthly company expenses is almost $100,000 (Employee, salary, building, machinery etc)
Where is all this money coming from?
It's all from loans and owing people money.
My boss will probably be in debt for the rest of his life.
But i dont' care as long as i get paid.
Only thing I worry about is the company going belly up.
My job is pretty secure because my task is pretty complicated and will take weeks if not month to train someone new.
So right now i'm just sitting around collecting salary while i find a new job.
There's a Chinese saying.
You ride a Donkey to find a Horse.
I think that makes sense in English too.

My original career background is finances, now I do, well a little bit of everything in terms of manufacturing/importing.
Design work is good or the suggestions Pablo and JC have been giving you, I say apply to anything thats on those links. Your approach should be the same as the Craigslist Personal ads, reply to 10 ads, 1 will respond. Law of averages.

With your Cad skill i say...
- Possibly be an independent Cad person and look for smaller firms that oursource their work. There are tons in the OC!!! you just need to know how to sell your self.
- learn CNC programming Cad/Cam
- Go back to School???
