Aerosim will be coming out with a carbon fiber wide body GC8 4-door kit within the next year. The 2-door kit is currently in development.

Just seems odd, to me at least
I didn't say the 4-door kit will take longer. In fact, it will actually take much less time.

The car currently being worked on is a 2-door GC8, whose fenders were done by hand. We have access to full-body scanning machines now, so once the coupe kit is finished, the 4-door kit can be scanned, and molds can be made within a few days. With access to the scanning machines, the 4-door kit will take anywhere from 3-4 months for the first kit to come out.

Why has the GC8 2-door kit taken so long? Steve said this in a NASIOC thread, in reply to somebody asking why it's taken so long:

You've missed the whole story, so here's the cliff note version ...

Friend made fenders
Fenders sucked
I couldn't sell you guys crap
I had 2 more flakes try to do it
I rented a shop
Made the masters myself
Built an oven by myself
Finally got some help from Kym and my friend Bob
Now molds are finally being made

Basically life has completely sucked for me for the past 3 years. Mercury poisoning has totally screwed me up but I've been getting treated for it and I'm slowly getting better. Now that Kym's been taking care of the rest of the business and expanding our inventory or aftermarket parts, I have more time to deal with the fenders, etc. and life is finally getting more normal.

Woah. Let's erase everything we've said and mistakenly thought.

We're working on the 2-door kit. It's taken 2+ years.. but when it's done, we can start on the 4-door kit. This will take much less time, with access to a scanning machine.

Then... the GD kits, and then GG. And then... I don't know. We'll figure it out down the line.

Hope this clears things up a bit?

I remember the original threads before there was a nasioc/I-Club split ...I'm aware of some of the trials/tribulations of getting the kit made... Glad to see it's coming round the last few bends It's been a long wait but then agian quality is always worth it....

Definitely. It's pretty fortunate that Steve works for Swift Engineering. We have the same hands making molds and laying carbon for F1 and Indy cars making our wide body kit.

Thanks for the nice words and everything.
