Hard drives are always luck of the draw thing, Ive had some bad luck with many brands. IF your data is important run a RAID array. Heat Kills hard drives. Click of death is always bad. Get your important data off and start with a new good drive.

only reason why i bought the hdd from fry's cuz it was cheap as heck at the time. it was on sale for like $70 haha

haha u use "click of death" too.. lol.. i fear that term.. so much..

Your problem is that you're buying Western Digital. My friend had two 250gb hds and he's RMAed them about three times for each drive and finally just gave up because they kept breaking on him. Maxtors tend to break eventually, but I've got good use out of them. I usually steer toward IBM, Seagate, or Hitachi I have no complaints about them thus far...

i have no faith in IBM i have had friend who use them and crash them easily..
hatachi owns the IBM HDD department now.. so they are the same thing..
the 250gb western digital is definately known to have problem
i also rma those twice..


seagate.. i dunno.. is very questionable..i only heard good things in the past
