I have a new looking Platinum Silver Met. '03, and would gladly swap my generic trunk (no wing/spoiler) for yours...

Patrick and I swapped trunks in a light drizzle on Saturday morning.

What first looked to be a 15 min swap actually took close to 4 hours!

1) Remove trunk lids (easy)
2) Remove lock from trunk lids (semi-easy)
3) Remove springs from car 1 (b***h)
4) Partially remove sound system from car 2 to get a springs (easy)
5) Remove springs from car 2 (semi-b***h- got the technique down
6) Install springs in car 1 (super B***)
7) Install spring in car 2 (easy - got the technique down
8) Install trunk lid on car 1 (easy)
9) Install trunk lid on car 2 (easy)
10) Remove parcel shelf and brake light from car 1 (easy, but time comsuming)
11) Remove parcel shelf from car 2 (easy but time consuming)
12) Install parcel shelf/brake light on car 2 (easy - takes time)
13) Install parcel shelf on car 1 (easy takes time)
14) Reinstall sound system in car 2 (easy)

I think we both ended up very satisfied with the trade. Now, to continue to stealth-out my STI...

 

i got a wagon trunk lid if you wanna look funky

 

i traded once and i didnt do the springs. the lock cyl. is a ***** to get the spring in there

 

Yes, I am stoked with my new STi wing!!!!

At 80mph, I can def. feel the car track a bit more smoothly.. it's 50lbs of downforce I hear at 80mph and 80lbs at 145mph which I wouldn't try unless at Big Willow.


Did the Tombstone Rally-X in Corona the same day, and it was a BLAST!!!!!


Ran stock RE-92's and stock everything except my strut bar brace that bumped me to Street Modified 4WD.. no bigge..

Never ran that event, and best was 1:14 which I was happy with..

All the slow teardown/rebuild paid off-- Thanks Warren!

 

haha i was in street stock i have a sway bar lowering springs and AGXs and i was in stock haha i had fun which one were you ?

 

Silver WRX with new STi wing ... # 87 and #86 was co-driver
has big mud flaps and tinted windows.. 1:20, 1:40 ( I f'd up and forgot to exit I was so into it.. and threw my time) and 1:14.4 for run 3.

Was a blast!!!

On windshield sun visor is blue graphics "Dave Frost Automotive" by bud and sponsor...

hmm i think i remember that one. it was hard to see the other 4wd cars when they are in your same class running at the same time

 

Ya, it was a Subie Fest.... so many silver WRX's and RS's....

I have black rally mud flaps that stick out.. it was a trip to see your? blue taped up car... went over board a bit.. Rally-X isn't that bad on the paint which is good.. we barrowed some tape for my car...
I just covered the wheel wells and the seams with race tape. It was easy to spot..
