Acer, dell, IBM are good

except my asics are cooler i'm wearing them now!

 

acer's are so so stay away from their lower end models they tend to have alot of issues but as for asus as the op says they are pretty decent

 

my asics running shoe is like $120 and it looks ugly =( Oh well it protects my feet...

I don't like Acers nor Dells, though I made the mistake of not knowing that and bought a Dell a few years ago. So many problems that Dell could have put an extra $50 to fix, yet it didn't break until after a year, which is when the warranty ends.

I know ASUS makes good mobos, so I'm sure that quality transfers over to laptops, however, I'm a firm believer in Lenovo (IBM) laptops. They have amazing sales sometimes. A few months ago, they had 15% off + free shipping + another 400-600 off depending on which laptop you chose. I've also heard great things about Fujitsu laptops as well.

my dad has a lenova laptop. its ok for what it is. vista SUCKS. lenova doesn't include re-install discs of vista in case anything goes wrong. had to contact customer service and they ended up shipping the discs to him, but it was like a week downtime without the laptop. oh, vista preinstalled = teh suck
