Yes its cheap. Well, for a new one anyway.

If you actually run out of space on an 80gb, you can always upgrade. It will void your warranty, but you CAN upgrade the HDD

Yeah that's cheap for an 80 GB, they just came out with a 160 GB which costs about 500.

get the 40 and replace the HD yourself. there isn't much difference between the 2 now. both lost ps2 backwards compatibility, no more flash card readers and went from 4 to 2 usb ports. the big upgrade is within the gpu, as it went from a 90nm to a 65nm process. so they run cooler and use less power. (you should see my 60 in action, that thing gets hot) but paying $100 for the hard drive is kinda ehhh when you can apply that $100 for your own HD which would net you something like a nice 160gb.

Keep in mind you need a Laptop HDD, at 5400rpm

40gb unit still cost around $300-350 from a quick search on ebay.
