Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Can a USDM WRX shortblock handle JDM STI power?

I'm sure that the new EJ20 can hold the power but once you start pumping up the boost, remember that the USDM Ej20s are open-deck not closed or semi-closed and tend to be weaker. I'm not sure what the compression for the Version 6 but the USDM motor should be lower, thus having less wear on the motor.
