yea..i just got home from a 10 minute drive and i noticed at a signal, there was like burning smoke that really stunk coming from my hood scoop. when i got home i opened the hood and A Lot of burning smoke came out. i checked the oil, and it so happens that it was almost completely DRY. i just changed my oil recently maybe like 300-400 miles ago. ive never spotted oil leaking on the ground before, so maybe this could be my oil burning up.. does anyone have any clue what could be causing this? think my rings are fried..

hope warrenty could help me on this =/

btw i have a 04 wrx with around 15k miles.
ide really appreciate it if sumone could help me out figure out what this could be.

Did you check your oil level a few times after you do your oil change?
Did your drain bolt fly off? oil filer break?
Are you sure that no oil is leaking anywhere?(before and after the smoke)

Did you check your engine compartment for sign of leaks?
Maybe oil is shooting off somewhere and land on the hot running engine so that the heat burn them to white smoke?

 

yea lazy me didnt check my oil level or anything after the oil change. i dont even think i opened my hood after that till now. yea the oil might be leaking somewhere ill have to check up on this. all i know is that A Lot of smoke was coming out of the engine bay and it wouldnt stop smoking for a whilee. it was dark too so i didnt really see anything. ima check today. thanks a lot dude.
