Hey,
I was checking stuff for our cars on Ebay, and came across this item....
Dyno claims of more power and torque...
How can this be true?
I know the grounding straps on my nology plug wires are for reducing EMF for the radio etc...
Is this a bogus claim or what?

I spent about $10 on 8ga. wires and connectors, connected 3 spots - each side of intake manifold and 1 behind intercooler. I (and my wife) noticed HUGE improvement on smoothness. It seems to help with acceleration NOT because more power but it revs much easier. It got rid of stutter between 2.5k - 4k rpm.

Thanks for the replies...
I know that a good set of performance/race plug wires gives a few hp and makes idle rpm much smoother ( I added some Nology plugs/plugwires to my Spec Miata and immediately noticed a difference) so it is good to know that additional grounding wires help smooth things out...
I will prob. make my own as well...

btw, the grounding mod also got rid of that H4 rumble at idle.

Ya, that would be a fantastic edition to the line...
The fiberglass h/t is ok, but with the new folding tops in most convertibles, is not really needed and is a pain to swap..
The new cars 2000 and up, are night and day better than the M-1 (1.6L)....
But hey the WRX is still the best bang for the buck.... plenty of space, great acceleration, and easy to mod..

You will see no power increase, unless your car currently has a problem.
The additional grounding allows your various sensors to have less noise and disruption, which in turn allows your ECU to manage the engine with the more accurate information/data.
Like what was posted above, I bought some speaker wire and made my own grounding kit for a few dollars.

I need to install ground wires on my '02 WRX. I've seen kits that cost up to $120. I would love to DIY but am electically challenged. Anyone have any instructions or schematics to indicate exact grounding locations and a suggested parts list?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Whatever ya do, DON'T use the strut top mounting bolts for grounding. They are the worst possible places to try to get a ground to the body, and if you don't think so just think about it for a while and it should be glaringly apparent why.
