It is time that I must, unfortunately sell my red 1984 Celica GTS which is the last gen for rear wheel drive celicas. The car has a long family history. I acquired the celica in August of 2004 with a blown engine from a good friend. I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with the car as I had a white 84 celica GTS at the time which my father purchased new in November of 1984 and I owned since 2000. I had all the orig paperwork on this celica. The night I was picking up the “new red GTS” I came home to find my white 84 GTS was stolen. It was found in a bad neighborhood(east orange) a bit banged up but I drove it home using a screwdriver as a key. Long story short I put all my good parts into the red celica GTS. I put my motor(22re) which was taken care of with reg oil changes every 3k miles and all maintenance done properly. The red GTS has 128k miles on it and my celica engine had 99,450 when stolen and currently the engine has about 102k miles. The red celica has many many new or replaced parts. It is a fully loaded 1984 model in super red with black/gray interior, with a sunroof and cloth seats. It has all options except for leather.Some of the list of those parts include: new Tokiko shocks and struts, belts, strut tower bar, centerforce stg 2 clutch (feels and works like stock) lightened LC engineering flywheel 12lb, h4 headlight conversion, shortened stock shifter (still have orig) new tires, toysport HKS intake, Diehard Gold battery, 85 supra rear spoiler, new trunk carpet, detailed engine, 2in custom built catback exhaust that is quiet with a super turbo muffler and dual exhaust tip welded on, air fuel gauge, and stock style fog lights. Car has very minor rust for an east coast car and the rust that it had was ground down then coated with por-15 and painted a matching red. The paint on the car is original as far as I know and has an outstanding luster and shine to it. The car could easily be brought to shows in its current condition. The interior is clean with minor wear. Surely a car like this is very rare. The only reason for selling this car is a future house purchase. I have faced this problem the last few months and there is no reasonable solution other then to sell the car. I would really like to see the car go to a good home with someone that will appreciate it for what it is and enjoy it. It is a very fun car to drive that is very reliable for a 22 year old car and gets good gas mileage. Car was never raced, or abused and adult owned. Just passed 2yr NJ inspection in October 06.
