After using the mark as read button everything is still in bold like they have unread posts in them.

Looking at new posts or today's posts?

If I click on new posts, there's seriously only one or two threads listed and they are truly unread.

Hey everyone,

There was change made to how the forum tracks what forums and threads you have read which has created confusion across the network. I've been told they are considering to either revert back to the old way or fix the problems with this one. I assume it will be fixed fairly quickly. Thanks!

Further Update...

It appears the change is an upgrade for us but is a significant change and I have voiced my concern that these types of changes should be pre-announced.

They have switched from using cookies to track posts and forums read to the database. By using the database to track what you have read the system will now be able to keep track our activity over any device you use to access the site with or any computer with the same username. Cookies would only do that in a particular browser. A negative is that we may need use the site a few days for the thing to reset and you may also prefer to mark everything on the site as read in order to reset it. I'll have more details later. Thanks.

I really dislike how the thread you just posted in does not show up after you hit new posts...

Site is still acting weird today, as I'm sure you're all aware. For me, on the mobile version, lots of subforums with no new activity appear in bold. Whenever I check in I get excited, then let down lol.

Hi,

Please try this if you have not. Go to the drop down under your username in the upper right hand corner of the page and select 'Mark Forums Read'.
