"the shop" in San Bruno, review?
Anyone had experience with "The Shop" in San Bruno?
I browsed thru their website and seems like they carry quite a comprehensive list of services.
Just wanted to know if they are good at (at least at our Sti) alignment, fender work and perhaps suspension installation.
Thanks

I have a friend that goes there regularly to get his maxima fixed, and is happy. Good mechanical problem solving/fixing, trustworthy (they won't rip you off with non-sense fixes), and good prices.

I'd went there to get my tires replaced. overall decent service. I've heard horror stories about that place tho. (this being after i had my services done) This is coming from a source I know wouldn't just say things just to say things.
If you want a good alignment hit up Roger Kraus in Castro Valley.

Awesome service and everyone raves about them too.

Some of the techs there are amateurs and are just friends of the owner, Matthel.
Matthel himself is a competent tech but can be very unprofessional; he'll treat you well if he thinks he can make some gain off of you, but if/when he realizes he's not going to be able to take advantage of you, he just ends up snubbing/ignoring you.
I used to work for Bridgestone and we'd hook him up with fatty discounts on tires and free tire disposal, and he was always pretty pleasant over the phone and in person when we were helping him out. But one day, I called for a quote on some parts for my own car, not even expecting a huge discount or anything but to just comparison shop, and he never got back to me. When I called him back, two times he said to give him more time -- it'd been a month already. Then a few weeks later I stopped by his shop to drop off some tires, he wouldn't even talk to me face-to-face; he sent out one of his techs instead.
The guy's a skilled tech but spineless lowlife shyster when it comes to doing business; don't expect any follow-up from him if you have any issues down the road with your work (which you probably will if he himself doesn't work on your car, which is unlikely unless it's a really big job).
