So the big Hamilton meet is 7/17 this year. Last year, Salty set up a caravan that was the bees knees.
Lets repeat!
Who all is going, and who would be down to caravan? The pre-meet spot is in a park at the base of Hamilton this year so we'll need to figure out a route and some pick up points for people along the way. I think this will work again this year.
Last year a few of us met up in Natomas, then headed to EGKK to pick up some people, then we stopped again to pick up some more (forget where), then we headed to the pre-meet location. Lets go 80 this year - the freeways are better and the route contains less road/stoplights to hold us up and split us apart.
I propose that the Sac guys meet at the 76 off Reed Ave (it's actually located on Stillwater Rd.). This way people can gas up if they need to, and there's a Starbucks right there. The 76 is has a full market, though I think it was closed last year when we met up because it was so early on a Sunday - either way you can still get gas and a coffee
. For now, let's plan to meet at Reed at 7:30am so we have enough time to get gas/coffee, and then meet up at spots along the way.
So here's the route from Stillwater Rd. to the pre meet location, Dave and Busters in Milpitas (click the pic for step by step directions):

This appears to be the fastest route (checked on mapquest and google) out there, and because 80 has more lanes than 5, and because this route would cause us to make less changes in course (from freeway to freeway, etc), I think this is also the best route.
So here is what I need from you guys:
We'll need people to bring some two-ways (they're getting REAL cheap now, I'll probably go buy some for myself) and we'll need to designate a few leaders to help keep the whole group together.
So lets do this, and lets do it right. On the drive, we'll be traveling at, or very close to the speed limit in order to keep everyone together and to keep out of trouble. There will be NO jack assery. If you're going to drive like an idiot, don't meet with us because we won't put up with you. Other than that, we'll have a blast and we should have an awesome group like last year. I think we had 40+ cars in a line on the freeway during last years drive
I'll update the thread with more details as we go along. When we pick the one or two more meet spots after Susuin, I'll update the thread with the locations and meet times.
Please note updated arrival/departure times!!

So here is what I need from you guys:
- Who wants to caravan with us?
- Where will we meet with you?
If you live in Sacramento, meet with us at Reed, if you live elsewhere, you may need to drive to a central spot. I'm thinking we could pick up the Solano county guys in Susuin at the Chevron there by the Starbucks (I'll get the address/info). Past that, we need to set up main spots to pick up. We can't have too many as we don't want to be stopping a ton, so maybe one or two more spots along the way at most.

The best spot in walnut creek would probably be in the marie calendars parking lot off Mt Diablo Blvd.

Probably one of the few spots that can accomodate a lot of people in walnut creek.
Its pretty easy to get to and freeway access is close by getting back on the freeway.
