I just read that the Spec C, as well as a couple of other STi models, like the 330 and 380, are only going to be available in the Japan and Europe, respectively. But who knows. Things are always changing.
Other than the S7, those are all supercars by 1980s standards. "blah blah what say you? the Corvette can run the 'Ring in so and so minutes and it just shaved off 4 seconds..." Oh goody goody. Europeans have been doing it for ages, the Asian tuning firms for just as long and we NOW think it's such a big deal to make a balanced car? The automotive press makes that car out to be the next Messiah...and just like the GTR, it fails to resonate with me on the level that they should.
A Corvette should be about unbridled power with no suspension, brakes and a unlivable but very patriotic interior. A GTR should have a freaking soul...not pretend that it has a ghost in its machine.
This leads me to the STI and dare I say, the Honda Si,...if we are ever going to get those JDM limited editions sent to our shores in the States (with, of course, California's emission standards in full bloody force) then we as consumers, drivers, tuners and what else have you, are going to have to step up and tell them that we are responsible. We are not all 18 year old, pimple-faced punks with a backwards cap and fart can on the back of our car and think we can race every car on the road.
I personally am tired of being shafted and teased by these JDM-only cars...my salivation and drooling stopped when the GTR was such a soulless car to drive...and yet we got it. i think that made my point...
Just a rant. No response is needed to this. I just felt like venting.
