So my craptastic Crystal Grey Metallic suburu paint on my driver side rear quarter is totally oxidized and peeling so heres my question. I know there are a few of you on here that work at paint shops so I am hoping to elicit some advice, and some opinions.

Knowing you get what you pay for the body shops I have gone to which are reputable insurance type places are telling me 1800-2200$$$$ to fix.
is this too much?

as far as I see it my options are

#1 Earl Shibe / maaco that shiz

#2 take it to a reputable place and pay the scratch to have it done and keep the same color

#3 fork out the dough and repaint entire car the color I have always loved which is Java Black Pearl? If I do this option how much should I be looking at ball park? I know you get what you pay for and whith the amount of money I have into the car it would be stupid to skimp here.

#3 leads me to another question I notice alot of people shy away from that color why?
