If you were the first guy on your block to have a WRX you probably paid MSRP. I waited and paid 22700. The moral of the story is you stuff isn't worth near what you paid for it and selling used stuff that may or may not be damaged or worn for half the going price is pretty much the norm. Even if you have the best of intentions , you are not a qualified technician or expert on turbo's and really have no idea if it is damaged. At worst you could be one of the many dishonest people out there and knowingly selling a damaged turbo. The buyer takes all the risk here. I bought a set of underdrive pullies on the forum and they were damaged when I got them. The previous owner tighted the crank pulley down without lining up the key and put a second large notch in the pulley which caused the center hole to be out of round and the whole pulley to be out of balance. I had to throw them away and lost my money because the guy wouldn't answer phone calls and Texas is way to far to drive from CT to get my money back. Cops will not bother with BS like this because they have real crimes, like murder, to solve. But I do have relatives in Texas I'm planning to visit next year and I still have his name and address. I'll get my $100 out of him or leave a nice long key mark and smashed windshield to show my appreciation.
