You thought the speaker scam was bad.
I just had two guys in business attire stop by the deli and attempt to sell us "fresh pizzas" at a "90% discount."
I was laughing inside when I heard what they were doing as I haven't seen this scam attempted since I lived in barracks. I decided to humor them by asking to see the product. They were at least 1-2 days old. You know business is rough when you try to sell food to another food place.

Typical scam pattern;
1. You walking up to your car in a parking lot.
2. A white/beige/taupe van, that you have seen proweling the lot, approaches you.
3. Dirtbag in van says, "Hey, I work for XXXX stereo shop. The warehouse screwed up & loaded two sets of XXXXX high end speakers on my van. They normally sell for 11ty billion, but, I'll sell them to you for $300.
4. If you are stupid enough to believe this person and ask to see the goods, he'll show you speakers, but will load up boxes weighted w/ teh bricks if you buy.
5. Has been around almost as long as prostitution.

I got the speaker scam in High School one day while I was in Traffic on Howe Ave. Cuz I had my system up a bit, and the guy asked if I wanted the same sound for my house.

Is that usually tried on military personnel or something?A Pizza delivery guy would roam the halls of the barracks with old “fresh” pizza, wings, sandwiches and other crap looking for new unknowing Soldiers to buy them. They'd claim someone placed a fake order and his boss would be pissed that he didn't sell the pizza. A lot of these new Soldiers had no friends yet, no phone, car, etc. A discount pizza seems like a great deal to someone living on military food. What they didn't know was that the pizza was a good 48hrs old or older. They wouldn't realize the pizza was old until the guy was gone and it was too late.
Discount concrete is what I want to hear about.
