Can HD DVD's be played on a normal player or does one have to go and buy a new player?

Doubt it would make a difference unless you have a HUGE monitor... i.e. 42' LCD or somefin

Umm. you fail at the math. And it's not n00b, it's pro, ask the "pro's" what their settings are (Xevious, sybir, Sonic, Egan)... DUH!

A full screen DVD on my monitor is not as nice as the HD TV or even a HD quality show I downloaded.

those guys are just lazy!

i've always set the max amount of posts viewed on every forum i'm a member on.
i hate paging to the next page unless I have to.
waste of energies IMO.

come to think of it, guess i'm teh lAz3.

BTW, i have no expertise in HDDVD/BR, i just use wikipedia for a quick ref. so I dunno if it would be pre-Vistarded approved.
i can't see companies keeping it from older machines, unless it won't work on anything but a 32bit system.
