Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone here had the Yakima racks using the "Y" system as opposed to the newer "Q" system.

Well, I am trying to find clips compatible with my car, but since the Y system was discontinued after 1997, I cannot find a database that states fitment compatibility for the 2004 WRX's.

If any of you have, through trial and error, found the appropriate compatible Y clips, can you please let me know?

Hmm, that might be a tough order to fill.

Do the crossbars from the 'Y' towers fit the 'Q' towers? If so, your easiest bet might be to just get some 'Q' towers and 'Q' clips.

 

I do have the older crossbars- I know its a pain. I did, however, find dealers with Y clips so now I just need to find out which ones fit my car.

 

ok so far I have narrowed it down. I need to find out if the 96 impreza had the same door frame set up as the 2004's.
