Y4DSRUHT - Almost the end of the week
Always liked the "polka pickle" lol. What're you saying about twinscroll? Not following.
If things would stop breaking and give me a chance to focus on turbo install it would be nice. Suspension should be arriving at KW tomorrow, and I have some new fittings/orings for powersteering. Oil pickup that doesn't have a bad weld showed up yesterday. It's coming together

What are your goals with the car? Trackdaybro? or still auto-x? Both the dom's are great turbos, I just don't really see any of those being the best choice for auto-x.
The 1.5 is a great street turbo but does give up transient response to the vf. The 2.5 is more of a trackday/hwy pull turbo.
Also, and I say this in the nicest way possible: cobb's stupid piece of crap overpriced chinacharger shouldn't even be on that list.
Or at least go on ebay and buy the same thing for like $250 and write "cobb" on it with a sharpie. Save yourself $600

The Cobb is intriguing to me because (a) it's good enough for Cobb to put their name on it, and (b) feedback has been that it has similar response to a VF, but with more top end which is kind of in my wheelhouse.

I've always had an itch to do a twin scroll setup so that's always an option, but has never really been the front-runner because of all the extra bits I would need to acquire (header, up pipe, down pipe, and catback). I had the chance to get the header and up pipe for a song a while back and should have jumped on it. If another opportunity should come up between now and when I actually pull the trigger, twin scroll may still happen.

Street and autocross would be the primary uses, but track days will be coming (shut up, Chris). The VF has served me well for what I've done to the car and have put it through, but I can feel the VF just slam into a wall and nose over above 5(ish)k RPM.

I just find it funny that you would make fun of EQ for slapping their badge on a china turbo, marking up the price by a huge chunk, and selling it with a straight face, but now that Cobb is doing the same thing it's suddenly better? No offense, you know ILU <3<3 but I just don't understand.
I think they're going down the crapper, just like many others, and compromising their standards for the sake of staying competitive.
Just like they claim that stg2+sf completely maxes the stock injectors on the 15+ sti, just cause they want you to buy their "stg3" setup which costs over a grand. Meanwhile every single 15/16 sti I've tuned in the past few months has been completely fine and nowhere near the 108% duty cycle they claim.
To me, that's bogus. And they can't claim elevation because Sac is about as low as it gets, if anyone was to max out injectors, it would be us.
I'll get off my soap box now, but let's call it what it is: an "ebay" turbo with a badge on it. Nothing special about it.
Anyway, back to talking about the other two: why not 8cm? if you didn't auto-x I'd fully support your 10cm decision. I loved mine. But transient below 4 grand was definitely impacted. And that was with the killer beez kneez
