Why SRIC and not SNIC?

Why limit ourselves to Sac and Reno... and not the entire area?

Wouldn't Sierra-Nevada Impreza Club make more sense? It would include Sacramento, Reno, Carson, Tahoe, and all the little towns spattered throughout the mountains in the area... there's a lot of Subies up in dem hills!

(SNIC was one of the original names for SECCS, but we decided we didn't want to limit to Imprezas in the name... plus the domain name was already taken.)

This was already discussed.

Link me... I thought I read every thread in this forum...?

Unless it's buried in the Sac postwhore thread... I only read the last page of that since I got back from Lovelock.

But I've never seen any discussion about the Sierra name being suggested...

I agree with sperry that it would be better as SNIC, because it is a regional forum, not specific to 2 cities. SNIC would better represent Sac, Auburn , Grass Valley, Truckee, Taho, Placerville, Reno Sparks...etc etc...

yah, we go to events all over the place. just goes to show that 2 cities really seems kinda limited in scope. on the other hand people know what large cities are around them and it will not be hard fo them to find a forum to suit them.

But if we were Sierra-Nevada I-Club, then we could brew our own beer! Maybe a pale ale, and throw in an unfiltered wheat bear. And we could call it Sierra-Nevada Pale Ale. And it would be good.

Sac isn't in the Sierra Nevadas though....

Sac/Reno sort of covers the whole area around Sac, and from Sac to Reno, IMO.

I like that name a lot.

Unfortunately, I don't think that any one name that covers the entire area, including Sac, will be anything but cumbersome, though.

Sierra-Nevada Impreza Club Kingvale El Dorado Roseville Sacramento.

I was just trying to come up with a regional type name... and Sierra-Nevada was the closest I could come up with, since Reno and Tahoe clearly aren't in the central valley... but you all are right that places like Sac and Stockton aren't exactly in the Sierras... SNIC just sounds cool.

Sierra Nevada & Central Valley i-club (pronounced like Snick Vick)

Hmm, I dunno. Sacramento/Reno seems like its a good regional descriptor, even if it isn't regional in the way 'Sierra Nevada' or 'Central Valley' is.

Maybe we should call it the nKoan/BAN SUVS forum "The forum that inclusive to every place the two of us have lived in the past year!" Vacaville, Placerville, Sacramento (although neither of us ever actually lived there), South Lake Tahoe & Reno!

hehe.

Hahahahahaha

I think SRIC works fine. SNIC is a cool name, but honestly Sac isn't very Sierra or Nevada. So, unless we want to kick the Sac goons back to BAIC, SRIC it is.
