Where's a good place to stay the night in Sacramento?

I'm planning to drive to Sacramento soon and will need to spend the night. I don't mind driving 20 miles from downtown. I'm not familiar with the town and would like to stay somewhere not so scary or dirty (ya, ya sissy me). Anyways, any good bed&breakfast or decent motels?

[edit] i'll be visiting Sutter Memorial Hospital when I'm there. Looking to spend at most $160 for the night. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions so far.
