My pals at FW Motorsports always took good care of me. They are in the Rocklin/Roseville area.

I don't think there really is a going rate. It depends on what you need and/or how trashed your current engine is. I'll tell you this though: having built many EJ's and been wrenching on and tuning hundreds of these cars for the past 10 years, if you want it done right, and use quality parts, and not skimp on anything, a properly "built" EJ full long block is not gonna cost less than 5 grand. And then you add in the profit the shop needs to make after paying employee and covering overhead, and suddenly you're over 6 grand easy.

Just a thought.

thanks Vladi! You're right about not cutting corners especially with these boxer engines, I'm looking for a good rebuild something that I can count on as not a daily but a weekend type of car if you know what I mean, with the occasional aggressive driving. I've thought about keeping it "stock" but if anything I'd like to get a good 350 to 400 whp and try to stay in a safe zone if possible with keeping up with maintenance.
