They never let you get your own refills, and they always toss the damn cup, then fill the new one to the brim with ice. Last time I was there, I went through like 8 damn small cups.

You know someone came out with a study that said fast food restaurant ice is plagued with more bacteria than fast food restaurant toilet water?? Just ask for no ice because of health reasons, I'm sure they'd understand (Finger in Chili!!!).

HAHA I know when I worked at Taco Bell, the Ice basically sits there ALLL day long.. I'm not sure how ice can carry bacteria though?! It's to cold for bacteria to grow
When I worked at taco bell we had to put the thermometer into the ice under the drinks and make sure it was colder then xxx degree's because if it was in the "bacteria zone" we had to clear it all out and get a new thing of ice, they where really strict about that kinda ****... They checked every hour

When we were living in Folsom we made pretty good friends with the fish boy at Petsmart. One night we were in there and we wanted to talk to him about something but he was helping these two Indian guys. They were talking about algae and how to remove it from tubing. I just figured he was talking about his fish tank.
When the guys left, the fish boy came up to us and said “never eat at subway again” those guys were the owners of the subways in Folsom and they were having massive growth of algae in the ice maker water lines. They didn’t want to pay to replace the lines and machine so they wanted a algae killer from the fish store to do it.

Had that problem doing field work at a dry camp in the desert. But we didn't know about it until the end of our field studies (2 1/2 months later). Me and a friend went up to empty the tanks (on a gravity feed system to the lower camping area) and the tanks were basically coated with an algae mat with large dark bacteria/algal growths in spots, some people soon became deathly ill later that week, hmmm wonder why??? All you have to do is introduce some bleach, just a cap full, wouldn't hurt you at all, and nobody gets sick.
