What's up with the "hate crimes" in Elk Grove?

What's up with these so called "hate crimes" in Elk Grove? Did the KKK start another branch in Elk Grove? What's up with kids these days doing crap like that? A third was one was reported yesterday. I remember the first 2 "hate crimes" happend not too long ago. Then that pimp in Laguna got busted for his ***** house. What's up with the "increase" in crime. Is it because of all the new people moving into the area? Has there been crimes of this nature before? I'm still new to the elk grove area and so far things seem to be getting worse. Any thoughts?

Well, this was old racist country from way back. This was "the country" up until like 10-15 years ago. The crime thing is probably just because of expansion... you loose the small town innocence when you get too big.

You got that right. I once walked into the Y-NOT bar off of grant line road. I was like the only one without a cowboy hat. Cool little dive though.

I experienced this type of thing first hand up in Auburn.

About 11 years ago now, my parents moved us (parents, 2 sisters and myself) from Vallejo, CA to a small area between Auburn and Grass Valley called Lake Of The Pines (LOP). LOP is a gated community with about 5,000 homes. The area is big enough for an elementary, jr. high and high school. A lot of people started moving to this area in '95 or so because it was a really nice place, there was virtually no crime and it was away from big cities.

Unfortunately, since tons of people were moving there, and most people were bringing their kids who were causing crime, the crime in that area increased. Lately there's been a rash of graffiti, car break ins (some genius' were breaking in to my parents neighbors car, tried to hot wire it and caught the thing on fire..dip****s) and other petty thefts. Recently there's even been some arson going on.

It's just the way things go. The more people you get in an area, the more ****heads there are. Elk Grove is experiencing this now.

As far as these crimes go, I saw some of the graffiti in Elk Grove. Someone painted "No Renters" on the garage. What the **** is that? Who cares if somebody rents

I guess they don't think that renters care enough about the house they are living in.

We had a couple of car break-ins. People are just stupid. Half of the people on my street work for the department of corrections and pack heat. Someone is gonna get popped one of these days.

I've only been here for a couple of years, but we had some old family friends that have lived here forever. They lived in one of the old Victorians in old town.

Kinda funny story: They are a interracial couple. He is a dark Hawaiian, she is German. The KKK came to their door (no joke, hoods and all) and started yelling. He comes out, recognises one of the guys voices as his neighbor and calls him on it.

"'Bob' is that you? What the hell?" They all looked at 'Bob' and then kinda sulked away...

That was ages ago, though.

Not really. If some one randomly breaks your car window and steals your stereo I don't think that would be considered a hate crime. It would be bad luck or being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

You can't help but laugh it, though.
I mean, the dumb@sses sprayed a Star of David on a house occupied by a Black family, and sprayed KKK on a house occupied by a Jewish family.
