What I HATE about driving a Tuned Car.

EXTREAM rant
At first it was cool. I mean the WRX is a nice car sitting still and then you drive it and it just gets better and better. SOOOO.... when I first got the car I was more then happy to talk to the average Joe about my 04 Suby. I would go to the grocery store and maybe the cart boy would say "Man nice car". So we would talk about cars and I would go drive my car home with a smile on my face.
Well now the world is a different place. I have now dropped some money into the car. Have rims and a vinyl kit and some other stuff. The big thing is the car looks way different. All lowered and riced out. Personally I like it this way but for @$P# sake its getting old quick.
Almost every time I go out there is some hill billy with a 3 tone paint rust bucket of a car stopping me or PACEING ME ON THE HIGHWAY to ask me, "Is that car fast DUDE". OMG please leave me alone. If you have to ask me who makes the car or if it is fast just don’t talk to me. And for THE LOVE OF GOD I just want to kick them in the teeth when the first words out of there greasy pie hole is "Is that a STI". Not that I have a problem looking like a STI but I know I am going to have one of them conversations when they cant even tell the difference in the cars.
The sad thing is that now I can’t even get other cars to race me at the lights. Which is not a big deal with the extreme risk in it all, but hell it’s just getting old. I don’t know maybe I just need to vent to some people that might know what I am going though. I feel like ripping all the mods of the car so I can just be left alone. I mean where on god's green earth did all these stupid people come from. If I have to explain to one more person what a TURBO is then I am packing it in and buying a Volvo.

Honestly, the vinyl is a huge part of what's getting you attention.......positive or negative. I'd take it off. I know it's still goign to be a bright, blue, low, loud car, but the vinyl screams "I'm looking for extra attention" and the fact that it' a massive Suby logo screams "ask me about my car."
Debadge it, maybe even go wingless, and ditch any body kit stuff and it will go a long way towards making it a much more subtle car that doesn't grab as much attention from n00bs but looks clean and finished to guys in the know.

It just pisses me off. Becuse I honestly did NOT buy the appearance stuff to look good for other people. I got it all for me. I like the look of the car. I really don’t want the attention.
Maybe that’s my only option. Just start taking the visual stuff of the car. What a disappointment.

FYI
What I meant by race at the lights is not what I think sonic was thinking about. I think we all have had a little fun with the car next to us when getting up to speed. Be that 45 or 65 depending on the road. And not that it happens but once in a blue moon. And if you say you have never done that you would be lying about it.
Only RACING i have ever done in the car is at SAC raceway.
And what I mean by is a big risk is getting harassed by the cops now that they are all gun ho about moded cars.
Its not a big deal that you implied that I should not be illegal street racing because for one you don’t know me, and two I was writing fast and did not think about what I might of implied. But I do not illegal street race and I never will. Hell I don’t ever go down sunrise on a weekend because of the problems with jack asses trying to race.

Or just get a wagon! No matter how loud, or fast it is no one will ask you to race or if you car is fast or anything. But when you show them how fast it is...they're like OMG!!!!! I just got owned!!!!! And then you can tell them all about it with a smile on your face

You're right, I don't know you, which is why when you said you couldn't even get cars to race you at stop lights, I thought you meant you were out there trying to get cars to race you at stop lights.
In the future, I'll try to dumb down my reading comprehension.
