I have a bone to pick with Sears sunrise mall, specifically their tools section:
they suck. they suck harder than any other store sucks ever. they are the champions of sucking and failing and being the worst.

I have never seen such terrible customer service and blatant disregard for anything customer related at any store in any mall. ever

that is all

Sears?! What are you, 60?

Just go to Harbor Freight like any other self respecting shade tree mechanic.

I hate to say it but QQ is right craftsman tools haven't been the same since they were outsourced to China. If you're buying Chinese tools might as well get them cheap. And Sears, they just blow in general now.

I bought a craftsman tool set from Sears about 12 years ago, specifically for their lifetime warranty. 2 of the ratchets are broken, and I went down there to have them repaired/replaced. When I went to arden mall sears a while ago, they replaced them on the spot. before that, they repaired it on the spot.

But sunrise mall, ugh, the few times I've been there, there is absolutely no one in the tools department, ever. you literally have to walk the whole store to find a salesperson, and when you do, they couldn't possibly care less about being even halfway nice. So I drop off my 2 ratchets last week, because apparently they have a "person coming in every now and then specifically to fix wrenches". It's been a week, and still no call back. so now my tools are basically held hostage and I can't work. which is absolutely unacceptable.

Are they about to close or something? I mean, it's so bad that it definitely looks like the store is going under.

I now buy HF, but don't see any reason not to have my old craftsman tools repaired/serviced like they're supposed to.

Ouch well that sucks, but yeah Sears discontinued the swap on the spot thing a while back. Even before that they'd take your higher quality made in the US tools and replace them with the Chinese ones. Harbor Freight also has a lifetime replacement for their hand tools.

Yup HF for the last while.

I see no issues breaking cheap parts once in a blue moon to get another replaced for free

In all honesty, ive only had 2 tools from HF break on me.

I bought Milwaukee FUEL brushless 1/4 and 3/8 ratchets, so I rarely ever use the manual craftsman one, but doing spark plugs in an STi it's just tight enough for the electric wrench not to fit, and the manual to just fit.

Anyways yeah, never use Sears sunrise mall lol

I bought a spark plug for my lawnmower from them in the last 4 or so months. I actually bought it online and was able to just walk in to pick it up.

That was the first time ive been there in 4 or 5 years.

I should probably buy a couple more filters for my shop vacuum from Sears before they fold up and I can't get the filter anymore.

The filter length is proprietary to Sears....

Sears is indeed going out of business.

https://www.sfgate.com/technology/bu...y-12474388.php

At least they are on their way out.

The whole deal to buy from them was to be able to swap out tools when they break. Kinda hard to do that if the store doesn't exist. If you really want that level of replacement, gotta go $nap-On.

$nap-On stuff is *****in'. But absolutely overkill if you're not a full time mechanic.

On another note, does anyone know which Toyota dealership service department is good? Is Maita Toyota good? Sienna needs its first oil change and we bought it at Elk Grove Toyota, kinda not wanting to drive that far
