Shower Thought: How in the hell did Paul Blart: Mall Cop warrant a sequel when Fox couldn't even keep Firefly on the air for more than a single season?

 

 

Ive never watched any of the above.

 

Thor: Ragnarok was good. Had good action plus some good comedy sprinkled in.

 

I was in meetign all day yesterday, totaly forgot that today was even Wed when I got to work.



It was a cheap movie to make so it still made money. Firefly was not cheap and they did not make much money.

 

How about.... How did that steaming squishy poo fest Pacific Rim get a sequel when The Simpsons movie didn't? Or Dredd? Or The Matrix?

Firefly premiered in the U.S. on the Fox network on September 20, 2002. By mid-December, Firefly had averaged 4.7 million viewers per episode and was 98th in Nielsen ratings.

Serenity:
Budget $39 million
Box office $38.9–40.1 million

Paul Blart:
Budget $26 million
Box office $183.3 million

 

Too much comedy IMO.

It was good. Some of the jokes got predictable.


Uhh... Pretty sure Matrix got two sequels.

But still... Money.

Pacific Rim, Simpsons, and Matrix made a bunch of money. Dredd did not.

I think the lack of sequel on the Simpsons might be the same reason the show was cancelled. The creators were kinda done with it. The franchise is still profitable. But they're all out of ideas.

 

What about Sleeping Beauty?

 

No, Matrix did not get any sequels. We will not acknowledge anything about those "movies" except for Monica Bellucci.

 

Yeah, I get the money part. But the fact that those films didn't earn money means that moviegoers are cultureless poopyfaces and go out in droves to watch Paul Blart and Alvin and The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked instead of movies that I (and other handsome, cool humans) like.

 

I'm sure it's somehow related to the rise of a culture of ignorance in the states. After all y'all got the host to a crappy relatity show voted in as a president.
