It was the #1 scariest thing I have ever done in my life, the #1 hardest 1-day hike I have ever done, and probably the #1 stupidest thing/decision I have made in my life. The view was totally worth it, but I don't think I'll ever do it again.
Probably not the smartest decision to go to the top when I have a wife that doesn't work, a three year old, and one on the way, especially when Half Dome has a documented hunger for the Japanese people.
I think we picked a good time to go, though, because there were hardly any other people when we got to the top, so the cables weren't crowded. I don't think I would have done it if it was crowded.
