Actually they didnt fire me.... I just got "written up"

I'm probably gonna go find another job though... If i've been working there for 2 years & get written up for some chicken**** *** bs like that then obviously they dont value me working there very much so i'll find someone else that does.

It was one of these printers:



I hit the little plastic guide tray on top & cracked it, the printer still works fine.

Just let it go. You techniclly broke they ****. They wrote you up for it. Sometimes paperwork is just that.

The real kicker is that my boss (other IT guy) had written the printer off already & was about to just order a new one. He told me to go over there & see what i could do with it so i played with it for a while with no result, got mad & hit it one good time. After that i sat down & thought about it for a minute & ended up getting it fixed. So basically i saved them a couple hundred bucks & got written up for it.

yeah, it was only a printer, but you really shouldn't hit stuff at work

i once punched a hole in the door of a cubicle overhead cabinet. nobody saw it, i covered it with a poster. went un-noticed till about a week after i quit.
