wont for me, heres why.... while 3g coverage maps look pretty good, the reality is that coverage blows ***** unless your standing in an open field on a clear day. so you trade a ****load of battery life for subpar performance, thats just going to failover to edge most of the time anyway. aside from that, factor additional costs to manufacture and license... a 3g iphone now would be premature, and jobs knows it. if he releases it he will be trying to drive carriers to increase coverage, or just following their normal upgrade cycle since he knows his customers will eat 110% of the cost of everything, smile, and ask for another across the face.

AT&T CEO or somecrap outted the phone a few months ago.
Its the reason AT&T has been upgrading the **** outta their network. New Chipsets have increased the battery life on 3g phones. On the phone I have now, I go almost 2days of full internet and SMS usage before a charge. I'd be happy with one day. -Or- One half day of full usage. Because...I can always charge it when I'm in front of my computer or whatever.

problem is, by ATTs own filings, the additional capacity wont be online til late fall. right in time for the Christmas push. so you can blow your wad now and try to force ATT to do more capacity sooner or just wait til the capacity is online just in time for the holiday.
