SAN FRANCISCO: Silicon Valley's math is getting fuzzy again.
Internet companies with funny names, little revenue and few customers are commanding high prices. And investors, having seemingly forgotten the pain of the first dot-com bust, are displaying symptoms of the disorder known as irrational exuberance.

so the junior college is trying to steal my money! in the past if you registered online you had 5 days to come in and pay your fees and if you didnt pay your registration would be canceled. Now, without informing the students or changing the online info, they changed the policy so that you can pay at any point in the semester. They are nice enough to send you a bill every week though, starting AFTER the drop date. So if you didnt know about the new policy you'll find out about it when you bring in your bill and go "wtfm8?" and at that point you can drop the class, but you still have to pay the fees. I'll post up what the little girl in the fiscal services office offered as an excuse when I get home...its the biggest "I have know clue what I'm talking about so I'm going to make something up right now" line ever

I hate when new people try to assert themselves and they make a comment about a "better" way to do something and are completely wrong.
me: we'll grab the users in the web group from that file, then I'll use a few lines of PERL to add the users properly, create the proper shadow entry and their home directory.
them: egrep would probably be faster
me:
We would only be searching on one item (so egrep isn't necessary) and it also won't chop up the lines properly or create the home dir
