Things aren't looking good for me going to school this semester. Just got a response from an instructor about letting me miss the first couple weeks of class (but keep up with notes/lecture, doing assignments) saying he doesn't want to repeat himself following lectures and he doesn't want resentment from other students about what was a good or bad excuse to miss class.

I think not being able to walk or drive is a fair excuse, and he sure earned some resentment from me.
